Delete your account
You can delete your account and all linked data directly from the app:
- Open tir.
- Scroll to the bottom of the home screen.
- Tap the red “delete account” button.
- Confirm in the alert.
This permanently removes your Firebase Authentication record, your user profile (display name, avatar, Elo, streaks, rounds played), your public leaderboard entry, and your active room memberships. See privacy for the full list.
If you cannot access the app, email support@aaam.dev and we will process the deletion within 7 days.
FAQ
How do I play?
A target word appears. You see four options. Pick toward the target — closest meaning, biggest leap. Your current word jumps to that pick, four new options appear. Keep picking. First to reach the target wins the round.
What does “closest meaning” mean?
tir uses semantic similarity (vector embeddings under the hood). Two words are “close” if their meanings overlap, regardless of spelling. cat and tiger are close. cat and cathedral are not. Closer pick = bigger leap toward the target.
What is the global room?
One always-on room that everyone plays in — same word, same time, real opponents. Drop in any time, win Elo, leave when you want. A round runs as fast as the fastest player picks: some end in seconds, some take a minute. When the winner reaches the target, a short finish window lets the rest finish their leap, then the next round starts.
What if no one else is online?
You can still play and still earn rating. Solo wins use diminishing returns per day (+8 / +4 / +2 / +1 / +1…) so off-peak play keeps the climb alive without becoming a farm. Real opponents are always worth more.
What is a private room?
A room you create with a 4-character join code. Share the code with friends to race head-to-head. Private rooms have four difficulty levels (chill, normal, hard, expert) and do NOT change your global Elo — perfect for practice or casual games with friends.
What is the placement period?
Your first 5 rounds are a calibration period. Your real Elo rating is being computed in the background, but the app shows “Calibrating N/5” instead of a number to keep early volatility quiet. After round 5 your tier badge and numeric rating appear.
How does Elo work?
Pure pairwise Elo. You gain rating by beating opponents who are rated near or above you. Losing to someone much stronger barely costs you. Beating someone much weaker barely earns you anything. It's the same math chess uses.
What if I'm playing alone in the global room?
You still earn Elo, with diminishing returns per day: +8 / +4 / +2 / +1 / +1 ... so solo play keeps the climb alive at off-peak times but cannot be farmed into a viable ladder strategy.
How do I sign in on a new device?
tir uses anonymous accounts tied to your installation. There is no “sign in” flow today. Account portability (link to Apple / Google) is on the roadmap.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?
No. tir is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
